Eliminating Unnecessary Equipment is Often a Good Thing!  

A company was having trouble with their security cameras which were installed on an island. It was a solar powered setup and we had installed a radio which required minimal current draw to transport their feeds. The problem was that the picture was grainy and almost indistinguishable. The radio and camera met at a small switch. We took a boat out to the island again and hard wired the cameras to the radio. After verifying with the end user that the picture was better we went back to have a look. Sure enough, avoiding that switch made all the difference in the world. Eliminating unnecessary equipment is almost always a good thing.
